TOPIC: CHALLENGES IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF E-EDUCATION

About the Event:
The seminar was held on 22nd June 2002 at INTI College Malaysia and officiated by the representative from the Education Ministry, Encik Othman b. Daud, Deputy Director of Education, Negeri Sembilan and 80 participants attended the seminar. It was also attended by Encik Md. Som b. Abdul Hamid, Head of the Communications Unit, Registration and Private Education, Negeri Sembilan, YM Tengku Tan Sri Dato's Seri Ahmad Rithauddeen b. Tengku Ismail, Chairman of INTI Foundation, Mr. Tan Yew Sing, President of INTI College, Dr. Chia Swee Ping, Vice-President of Academic Affairs.

The seminar provided the participants with an avenue to deliberate on the strengths and challenges of e-learning so that they are able to maximize the opportunities presented by this new mode of delivering education.

Among the plenary speakers at the seminar were Professor Madya Dr. Mansor Fadzil, Vice President of Academic, Malaysia Open University, Professor Dr. Halimah Bodioze Zaman, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, and Professor Dato' Dr. Ibrahim Ahmad Bajunid from Universiti Tun Abdul Razak.

A case study on SMJK Dingding, Perak and a forum entitled 'Are We Ready' further reinforced the participants with the knowledge and importance of developing a pool of technologically competent youth who are able to fulfill the demands of the 21st century.
