A study on structured approach vs. object oriented approach using UML

To remain competitive advantages and to satisfy the ever-changing business requirements, it is a crucial aspect for adopting a well defined approach in order to produce a better quality system within shorter development time frame. The suitable approach would be able to provide a better perspective of generalized view on data and functional aspects of the application. Hence, a study on the two paradigms namely structured and object-oriented approach were conducted to assesses several factors such as effectiveness, efficiency, satisfaction, expectation and substitution in the use of conducive approach perspective.  The study emphasis on the object-oriented paradigm with Unified Modeling Language (UML) that would be an added advantage and helps to enhance the level of effectiveness and efficiency in the software development process. This research paper was presented at International Symposium on Science and Mathematics 2006 at KUSTEM, Terengganu.
