4. Performance Analysis of Location-Based Service

As the number of subscribers increase reflecting a simultaneous increase in the Average revenue per user (ARPU), the wireless carriers are driven to develop a host of new products, services and models to cater to the arising need for sophistication and convenience. Location Services, which provide information specific to a location, is has topped the quest in their portfolio. This has come a long way that this is being considered as a ground for 4G systems as well. Therefore, this paper proceeds to evaluate the effectiveness of the Location based system in detecting the presence of objects (access point or WiFi enabled device) in its vicinity and also the accurateness of locating this object in a geographical map. The architecture to be conceived and the location based service will be proposed, the techniques explained and the analysis detailed.
